The Stack

The Stack is your daily action center in MEMO. It's organized by importance, not urgency — designed to help you win the day in just a few minutes.

Unlike a CRM that shows you 50 overdue tasks, The Stack shows you what actually matters. It has three layers, each with a clear purpose:

  1. The Short List — The 3 people you should contact today
  2. The Daily Deal — A quick card game to enrich your data
  3. Focus Stacks — Optional deep dives for when you want more

Complete the Short List and you've won the day. Everything else is bonus.

Today's Short List

The Must-Do.

The Short List shows you the 3 most important people to reach out to today. Not 30. Not 10. Just 3.

Why only 3?

Because 3 is achievable. A list of 50 tasks creates anxiety. A list of 3 creates action.

If you contact these 3 people, you have won the day. Close the app. Feel good. The relationships that matter most got your attention.

How MEMO picks your 3

The Short List isn't random. MEMO surfaces people based on:

You don't need to think about the logic. Just trust that the 3 people shown are the right 3 people for today.

What you see

Each person on your Short List appears as a card showing:

What you do

Reach out however feels right — a text, a call, a voice memo, a coffee invite. Then mark it done.

When you complete all 3, the Short List is empty. You're finished. No infinite scroll. No guilt.

The Daily Deal

The Candy.

Below your Short List, you'll find The Daily Deal — a quick 5-card game that makes data entry actually enjoyable.

The concept

Traditional CRMs ask you to fill out forms. Boring. MEMO deals you a hand of cards instead. Each card asks one simple question about one person.

You're not "updating the database." You're playing a quick game that makes your future suggestions smarter.

The three card types

Fact Cards (The Vegetables) Fill in missing details: "When is Sarah's birthday?" or "What was the commission on the Johnson deal?"

Memo Cards (The Candy) Capture personal details: "What does Andrew do for fun?" or "What's something you admire about them?"

Reward Cards (The High Fives) Celebrate milestones: "3-day streak!" or "You've tracked $50K in commissions."

How to play

  1. Tap "Deal" to start your session
  2. Answer each card (or skip if you don't know)
  3. After 5 cards, you're done

The whole thing takes 2-3 minutes. Your answers are saved automatically to each person's profile.

Why it matters

The more MEMO knows about your contacts, the smarter it gets:

The Daily Deal is how you teach MEMO about your relationships — without it feeling like work.

Focus Stacks

The Extra Credit.

At the bottom of The Stack, you'll find Focus Stacks — specific drawers for specific needs.

What they are

Focus Stacks let you dive deep into one category at a time:

The anti-guilt design

Notice there are no red badges. No warning counts. No "47 OVERDUE" screaming at you.

Focus Stacks are voluntary. You enter them when you want to, not because the app is guilting you into it. Some days you'll have 5 extra minutes and want to knock out some birthdays. Most days you won't. Both are fine.

When to use them

Think of Focus Stacks as filing cabinets. They're there when you need them. They don't jump out and demand attention.

The Stack Philosophy

The Stack is built on a simple belief: you should be allowed to finish.

Traditional CRMs have infinite lists that never end. There's always another task, another overdue item, another red badge. The feeling is always "I'm behind."

The Stack is different:

Layer Size Feeling when done
Short List 3 people "I won the day"
Daily Deal 5 cards "That was fun"
Focus Stacks Optional "I went above and beyond"

Complete your Short List and you're done. Play the Daily Deal and you've made progress. Dig into Focus Stacks and you're an overachiever. But you're never "behind."

Tips for Getting the Most Out of The Stack

Start with the Short List. Those 3 people are your priority. Everything else is bonus.

Make the Daily Deal a ritual. Morning coffee, lunch break, end of day — find a moment that works for you. Consistency beats intensity.

Don't force Focus Stacks. They're there when you want them. No guilt if you never open them.

Trust the system. MEMO is surfacing the right people. You don't need to second-guess or hunt for someone specific.

"Done" is allowed. When the Short List is empty, close the app. You did enough.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What if I can't reach all 3 people on my Short List? That's fine. Log that you tried (even "left voicemail" counts) and move on. The goal is attention, not perfection.

Q: Do I have to do the Daily Deal every day? Nope. It's there when you want it. But the more you play, the smarter MEMO gets about your contacts.

Q: What if I want to do more than 5 cards? Tap "Deal Again" for another hand. Or dive into a Focus Stack. But don't burn yourself out — sustainable beats intense.

Q: Will I see the same people over and over? MEMO rotates intelligently. You won't see the same person twice in one session, and it prioritizes based on what's actually needed.

Q: Can I skip Focus Stacks entirely? Absolutely. Many users never touch them. The Short List and Daily Deal are plenty.
